Demystifying meditation

Meditation, dhyana in Sanskrit, is the act of remaining and observing the mind. Noticing but not engaging with thoughts. It's about training in awareness, getting a healthy sense of perspective with the goal of achieving a state of mental clarity and emotional calm.

Believe us, it sound harder than it actually is! To practice meditation, all you need is to find a quiet place, sitting comfortably, focusing the mind, and observing thoughts without judgment.

Meditation is often associated with spiritual practices, such as Buddhism or Hinduism, but it can also be practiced secularly. Meditation can be practiced by anyone, regardless of their religious or cultural background.

There are many different types of meditation, including mindfulness meditation, loving-kindness meditation, and transcendental meditation. Each type of meditation has a different purpose, but all of them are useful tools for managing stress and improving overall health and well-being.

Research has shown that meditation can have a variety of benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety, improving mood and emotional regulation, and increasing feelings of well-being and compassion. Regular meditation practice has also been associated with physical health benefits, such as lower blood pressure and improved immune system functioning.
