The lighthouse effect
In the testimonials I’ve been sharing, the lighthouse effect is mentioned a lot. Why, you may ask? 🤔
This comes from a personal story shared during our summer retreat. A time when I felt lost, and sick. At one point, I sought help from an osteopath and learned how emotional pain can manifest physically in our bodies. The pain was real, yet it demanded facing my mind and doing the inner work.
After sharing my constant sense of alienation, he shared an idea that shifted how I engaged with the outer world: “Sometimes the best thing you can do is to be a lighthouse.”
Instead of constantly trying to explain yourself or seek validation, redirect your energy inward. Focus on creating your own path and understanding yourself before expecting others to understand you. By being your own light, others might eventually recognise how your journey is bringing you newfound harmony and peace. You may also illuminate a path that inspires others to create their own paths and, who knows, perhaps meet you somewhere along the way.
But be cautious: this isn’t about trying to be seen as an example. That’s just your ego at play. It’s also not about preaching or pushing others to follow you; that’s more a god’s complex. Remember, just because you’ve found your way of navigating the world doesn’t mean it’s the right path for everyone. Each person’s wellbeing is unique, and there is no magic potion or one-size-fits-all approach.
The lighthouse effect is about creating and enjoying your own journey, quietly.
We are all connected, and the lighthouse effect is truly powerful. In psychology, this is known as vicarious experience - a key motivator that encourages us to move forward by being inspired by the progress of those around us.
And so, together, we entered a new cycle where the lighthouse effect becomes an integral part of our journey.
Will you join us on this journey? 🔮
