DIgital detox for burnout

After experiencing a level of peace and connection I hadn’t felt in a long time during three nights offline, I knew this was something meaningful. At that point, I was feeling mentally tired, overstimulated, and depleted in ways that had slowly become normal. I decided to turn that experience into a myalfazema retreat—a shared, phone-free space to truly step away.

What I noticed was simple but profound. When the constant pull on our attention stopped, the body softened and the mind settled. Even while hiking and moving, I felt more rested than usual because I wasn’t spending energy on screens, notifications, or constant input. Days became simple: walking, breathing, resting, cooking, talking, journaling. I slept deeply and woke up feeling clear and restored.

That’s the thing about stepping away, especially when burnout is close. Even a short time offline allows you to reclaim your attention—our most important cognitive resource. You begin noticing what you usually rush past. You remember what matters. Life feels more real, and days feel full again, not because you do more, but because you’re actually present.

Most of us reach for our phones automatically, out of habit or exhaustion, filling moments that don’t always need filling. Over time, this constant stimulation quietly deepens burnout. Here, with the phone away, you remember what it feels like to be disconnected from constant input—and deeply connected to what’s right in front of you.

I also know that many people long for this kind of reset but haven’t found a place where they feel safe and supported enough to slow down. Especially when you’re burned out, doing this alone can feel overwhelming. So we built it.
