Our home is a peaceful villa in the Algarve, overlooking the Ria Formosa, with beautiful sunsets and plenty of space to connect or be by yourself. It took a long time to find a place that truly felt right for this retreat, and this villa is it. The beach is walking distance, and the airport is only 30 minutes away.

Your Offline Retreat Journey, Step by Step

Detoxing from social media and endless notifications is the intention of the Disconnect to (Re)Connect Retreat. This is an offline retreat, the time you actually need to refocus, reflect, rest, and make space for new ideas and creativity. To support a true reset and protect the calm space, all participants agree to be phone-free. Leonor will be with you throughout the entire retreat, offering support and guiding the daily rhythm and activities.

  • Meet Leonor in your online 1:1 wellbeing session (psychology-led guidance) to share what’s unfolding in your life, what you’re carrying, and what you’re seeking.
  • A simple questionnaire will be sent to get to know you better and understand any important health details.
  • The retreat schedule will be shared. We do keep things punctual and we love structure, as it brings freedom and peace, but we also keep it flexible and adapt to the weather, the universe, and the energy of the group.

Everything is optional: your retreat, your flow.

The rest of the day is yours, with space to do absolutely nothing (and it’s precious).

Guided by Experienced Facilitators

Leonor Pinheiro, Psychology Wellbeing Guide

Leonor is the founder of myalfazema and a facilitator devoted to inner work, emotional awareness, and grounded transformation. Her work weaves together science and spirituality, structure and intuition. Clients describe Leonor’s sessions as deeply supportive and attuned, leaving with greater clarity and confidence, having released emotional blocks, feeling calmer, and reconnected with themselves in a meaningful way.

She holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Amsterdam, specialising in Social Psychology, with studies in emotion, motivation, and behaviour change. She continues to explore how we create meaning in our lives, and how through that process, we come home to ourselves and contribute to society.

Over the years, her path has taken her through more than 50 countries and six universities, learning from diverse cultures, spiritual traditions, and teachers. Before creating myalfazema, Leonor also studied Economics & Communications and worked in corporate environments - an experience that gave her a deep understanding of high-pressure, fast-paced professional life, along with a grounded structure she continues to value in her work today.

Leonor does not believe in quick fixes or shortcuts to happiness, but in honest reflection, consistency, inner strength, and lasting, embodied change

During the retreat, Leonor curates the overall flow of the experience and facilitates a dedicated sessions blending psychological insight, breathing, meditation, and spiritual practices. The retreat also includes two 1-on-1 wellbeing sessions with Leonor, one before and one after the retreat.

Above all, this is a shared journey. Leonor creates spaces where people feel safe to slow down, soften, and reconnect with what truly matters. And each person brings something unique to the space, so together we co-create a transformative retreat experience.

Amabile, Natural Chef & Cooking Teacher

Amabile is an exceptional chef, and we have been working together for some time. When the idea for this retreat began to take shape, Amabile was an essential part of that vision, I knew it had to be with her. Not only because her food is delicious, nourishing, and healthy (everyone loves it), but also because she is the perfect person to lead the cooking workshops.

Amabile will be responsible for preparing the daily meals during the retreat, and in the evenings, we will come together to cook dinner as a group, guided by her. She has been teaching for several years and, this year, launched her online course CPI – Cozinha Prática e Funcional (Practical and Functional Cooking), which was an absolute success.

Her journey in functional gastronomy began in 2013, and over the years she has taken on many roles, including retreat chef, workshop facilitator, and restaurant consultant. 

Amabile is also the founder of UNA Create, a culinary studio in Lisbon, and co-author of Cozinha Funcional (2022), Portugal’s first book dedicated to functional gastronomy. Passionate and deeply curious, she draws inspiration from diverse culinary traditions and ancient healing practices, weaving them into her work with care and intention.

Why did we create this retreat?

DISCONNECT TO (RE)CONNECT

After feeling so much peace and connection during three nights offline, I decided to upgrade the experience into a myalfazema retreat. No phones, no WiFi, no outside world. Just us. A full digital detox.

Over those days, I noticed what happens when we are offline. It is absolutely amazing: the mind, the body, the peace. WOW! I hadn’t felt that connected in a long time. With the screen gone, I awakened clarity and perspective.

Even though I was hiking a lot, I felt more rested than usual because I wasn’t spending any energy on digital devices. I spent the time simply being: walking, doing a few breathing practices, meditating, reading, laughing, cooking, and talking with others. I used the myGuidebook as a structure to go inward, to journal, reflect, and find answers I’d been too busy to hear. I slept deeply and woke up at 5am with more energy than ever.

That’s the thing about stepping away: even for a short time, you reclaim your attention. And our attention is our most important cognitive resource, and what defines the quality of our lives. You start noticing what you usually rush past. You get so many new ideas. You see what you’ve been carrying. You remember what matters. When the phone is away, life feels more real. And days feel so full.

Most of us reach for our phones automatically to fill any spare second. We fill gaps that don’t always need filling, simply out of habit and to avoid being “bored.” And when you step back, you start to see how strange that is. You start to see how often we trade the beauty of the present moment, the only one we have, for a scroll about something that is happening far away.Your life is already full of real moments: light shifting through the window, a short conversation, the sound of birds. It’s easy to miss them when your attention is always elsewhere. Here, with the phone away, you remember what it feels like to be disconnected, and connected to what’s right in front of you.

Payment plan:

  • Your spot will be confirmed after payment of a 200€ deposit 
  • The remaining amount is to be settled until one month after the deposit has been paid

All participants agree to be phone-free for the duration of the retreat.

At the start of the retreat we’ll do a simple “switch-off” ceremony. You can choose to:

  • Hand your phone to us, or

  • Keep it with you, as long as it stays switched off and stored away throughout the retreat.

Notes:

  • Emergencies: Friends and family can still reach us if needed. We’ll share an emergency contact for the retreat.
  • Timekeeping: If you like, bring a non-digital watch. We’ll mark 8:00 each morning with a gentle sound cue (sleep in if you like, breakfast runs until 9:00).
  • Staff: You may occasionally see the team use a phone or digital devices for logistics, safety, or emergencies. 

We’ll be staying in a beautiful house near the town of Fuseta in the Algarve.

Getting here is quite simple:

  • From Faro (city or airport): ~17 km (about 20 minutes) by car/taxi/Uber/Bolt.

  • From Fuseta: ~6–9 km (about 10–15 minutes) by car/taxi/Uber/Bolt.

  • From Lisbon Airport: ~287 km.

Public transport: You can use public transport (train or bus) from Lisbon or Faro. If you’re coming by public transport, aim for Faro or Fuseta first, then take a taxi / Uber / Bolt for the last stretch (some people even walk from Fuseta if they’re traveling light).

Ride sharing: Before the retreat begins, we’ll create a WhatsApp group for all participants to coordinate logistics and share rides. Guests have found this incredibly helpful, especially for arranging shared Ubers from airport

To make it personal, we also include 1:1 sessions before and after the retreat, so you can set clear intentions, feel supported through the process, integrate what you’ve learned into real life and do a take-home digital detox plan you can realistically follow once you’re back.

30 April: Room Check-in from 4pm. The retreat is set to begin at 5 pm.

3 May: The retreat wraps up by 10am leaving you with a heart full of memories and a soul ready to flourish. 

No worries! We’ll be sending out a questionnaire to learn more about your allergies.
